My Journey

My name is Ragebul Islam, and my life changed in a way I never imagine

🌑 When Life Suddenly Collapsed

In December 2021, an unexpected illness struck me. Within months, my body began to shut down.

By May 2022, I completely lost the ability to walk. A man who once lived independently, worked actively, and supported others - suddenly became fully dependent on a wheelchair for every movement.

As I struggled through intense physical pain, another tragedy hit me even harder.

In November 2023, I went through a painful divorce.

My father is no longer in this world. My elderly mother cries nightly in Tahajjud, praying for Allah to save me. My little daughter - too young to understand life - hugs me, feeds me medicine, and whispers, “Baba, you will be okay.”

Those two - my mother and my daughter - are the only reason I still hold on.

🩺 My Medical Condition: LETM + CKD

I was diagnosed with Longitudinally Extensive Transverse Myelitis (LETM) - a rare and severe spinal cord disorder causing paralysis.

With time, I also developed Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), making daily life even more difficult.

Doctors say my best chance is:

Stem cell transplantation

Long-term rehabilitation

Kidney treatment & monitoring

Assistive and mobility devices

These treatments can give me back a functional life - but the cost is far beyond my capability.

🌱 My Past: A Life of Helping Others

Before this illness, my life revolved around service and community work.

As an active Rotary Club member, I worked in:

Tree plantation projects

Supporting schoolchildren

Helping elderly people

Distributing winter clothes

Feeding homeless communities

Helping others was my identity.

Today, life has placed me on the other side - needing help instead of giving it.

And that is the most painful transformation I’ve ever experienced.

🌤 My Present Reality

I live each day managing:

Limited mobility

Ongoing kidney complications

Constant physiotherapy

Extreme treatment expenses

Emotional pressure as a single father

Responsibility toward my elderly mother

Yet, despite everything, I haven’t lost hope.

I work online as much as my body permits, I study, I create, and I try to stay strong mentally. I believe Allah never burdens a soul beyond what it can bear.

My dream is to establish RST Life as a platform that provides healing, support, and dignity to people suffering from chronic illness worldwide - especially in poor communities who have no help.

This suffering has deepened my empathy, strengthened my faith, and taught me the true meaning of resilience.
